ORCHID PLANTS IN FLASKS |
|
Seedling & Mericlone Flasks We flower a comprehensive range of seedlings each year from several genera and from those seedlings we select the best for cloning and breeding. We breed for the cut flower, pot plant and showbench trades. Our main production is geared towards Cymbidiums, Australian Native Dendrobiums and Cattleyas (especially those that grow in cool conditions). Other cool growing genera are propagated intermittently and will be advertised from time to time. New stud plants and newly propagated clones will be illustrated in our Photo Gallery. Commercial clients regularly wanting larger volumes of plants can be provided with pre-release photos of new stock selected for propagation on request. FLASK SIZES: Our basic production is geared to our own requirements, however, we prepare flask sizes to suit clients. Our standard flask size is 15 plants however we also prepare flasks of 10 (min) to 40 plants to order, or, if we can ship plants ex-flask any number of plants can be ordered. Clients should be aware that the greater the in-flask plant content, the smaller the plant. EXPORT ORDERS: We will ship to any country. Intending clients should read the information provided in our Terms page applicable to them. We are a Government approved propagation nursery for export and only Cites 1 or EPBC species now require a CITES certificate. Those requiring confirmation of this may contact Environment Australia or your country's relevant Government department. See our Export Terms page for export requirements. FLASK CATALOGUES: Regular clients will receive copies by e-mail specific to genera grown. If e-mail facilities are unavailable then please supply a business size, addressed envelope and return postage. Seedlings: Our normal procedure is to germinate seed then replate it. Once growth is active we prepare a catalogue and then release it. On receipt of an order flasks are prepared. Since seed from some genera (eg Cymbidiums) is now be sown over an 10 month period there will obviously be a differential in growth rates and we need to have orders in early so we can co-ordinate our production to suit shipment requirements. Mericlones: Clonal propagation can be a slow process especially with new items. Again we recommend clients wanting large plant volumes lodge orders early. DEFLASKING INSTRUCTIONS We have available a comprehensive set of instructions to help those who have never deflasked plants before. The methods we use should apply to most conditions but obviously local conditions may vary substantially to ours and some adjustments will be required. To receive a copy, go to our "Catalogues" page and enter your name and your e-mail address and in the "remarks" field enter "Copy of deflasking instructions please" and we will e-mail it to you. Deflasking is a simple process and is no different to normal plant repotting. The important factors are not to overwater, don't use fine water retaining potting medium, and avoid strong light, hot dry and cold wet conditions. |
